The recovery growth continued from the second half of 2009, despite
the interruption in the business revival in the third quarter of 2010,
lead to the 4% GDP increase for the whole 2010. The industrial
production indicator increased by 8.2%, the total processing grew
by 11.8%, while the production and distribution of electricity, gas
and water raised by 4.1% versus the similar indicator of the previous
year.
Capacity of power plants of UPS of Russia 2010:
Total installed capacity: 214,868.6MW;
Growth in installed capacity: 3,229.95MW;
Commissioning of new capacities (taking into account captive
power plants): 2,886.2MW;
Decommissioning of generating equipment: 1,006.7MW.
The installed capacity of the North-West IPS made 21,572.1MW
as of January 1, 2011, having increased by 2.7% in comparison with
the similar indicator of 2009. A share of North-West IPS in the total
volume of the installed capacity of UPS of Russia is 10 per cent.
Electricity generation by power plants of wholesale and
territorial generating companies in 2010 versus 2009,
bn kWh:
OGK power plants: 337.7 (4.5% growth);
TGC power plants: 251.5 (0.6% growth).
The total electricity generation of North-West IPS is 101,360mn
kWh in 2010, which makes 10.1% of the overall generation of
UPS of Russia. The North-West IPS electricity generation growth
in 2010, as compared to 2009, was registered at the level of
3.9%, in particular: the CHPP and NPP generation increased
by 7.2% and 5.1% respectively; the HPP generation decreased
by 7.4%, and the generation by captive power plants increased
by 1.1%.
The actual electricity consumption for UPS of Russia made
988,960.6mn kWh in 2010, which is 4.5% higher than the fact in
2009 and 0.2% higher than the fact in 2008 (without accounting
of the consumption of an extra day of the 2008 leap year).
The annual maximum demand of the consumers of UPS of Russia
was registered at 18:00 h (Moscow time) on January 26, 2010 at the electrical frequency of 50.010 Hz and equaled to 149,157MW at the
mean daily outside air temperature of minus 21.3°С (7°С below the
climatic normal and 1.3°С higher than in 2009). The 2010 maximum
value is 0.6% below the absolute annual maximum of 2009. The
peak load of the power plants of UPS of Russia made 151,271MW at
the hour of the consumer maximum demand passage.
The electricity consumption growth will continue in 2011 owing to the implementation of individual projects. New large connections to the energy system, which would considerably impact on the demand, are not expected in region.
