JSC Territorial Generating Company No. 1 (JSC TGC-1) is the leading producer of electricity and heat energy in the North-West region of Russia and the third biggest territorial generating company in the country by the volume of installed capacity.

JSC TGC-1 was founded in 2005 in the course of reforming of the electric energy industry of Russia, and nowadays the Company incorporates generating enterprises from the Baltic Sea to the Barents Sea. At the year 2010, the Company’s generating assets comprised 56 electric power plants of various types in four subjects of the Russian Federation such as Saint Petersburg, the Republic of Karelia, and the Leningrad and Murmansk Oblasts.

Generated electricity is delivered to the domestic wholesale market of electricity and capacity as well as exported to Finland and Norway. JSC TGC-1 is a strategic supplier of heat energy in Saint Petersburg, Petrozavodsk, Murmansk, Kirovsk in the Leningrad Oblast, and Apatity in the Murmansk Oblast.

The JSC TGC-1 structure includes the following affiliates: JSC Murmanskaya CHPP (energy supply to Murmansk and surrounding areas; a 90.34% share in the authorized capital), JSC Khibiny Heating Company (reformation of heat supply in the Apatity-and- Kirovsk region; a 50% share in the authorized capital), JSC Saint Petersburg Heating Grid (unification of heating grids in the area of operations of the Company’s CHPPs; a 100% affiliate).

JSC TGC-1 is a part, in its turn, of the Gazprom Group. The Gazprom’s generating assets are consolidated in the balance of the specialpurpose affiliate Gazprom Energoholding LLC established within the framework of the JSC Gazprom Strategy implementation in the electric energy industry. That allows the effective management system based on the unified corporate standards to be created. The Group consolidates the controlling stakes of JSC Mosenergo, JSC OGK-2, JSC OGK-6, and JSC TGC-1 through Gazprom Energoholding LLC. Gazprom is the largest owner of generating assets in Russia and one of ten major global electricity producers.


      The principal shareholders of JSC TGC-1 are: Gazprom Energoholding LLC – 51.79% of shares, and Fortum Power and Heat Oy – 25.66% of shares.

The JSC TGC-1 shares are circulated on the RTS and MICEX stock exchanges.

The second biggest shareholder, Fortum Power and Heat Oy, is the leading energy concern of Scandinavia with the highest standards of business conduct. It makes a valuable contribution in the enhancement of the Company’s management efficiency.
