- Sewer networks reconstructed at the Pravoberezhnaya cogeneration plant, and cooling tower 2 constructed.
- Design and exploration work for disposal of industrial and storm runoffs and sewage effluents completed at Nizhne-Svirskaya and Verkhne-Svirskaya hydro power plants.
- Sewer networks constructed at Svetogorskaya hydro power plant.
- Installation of three fish protection structures completed at electric power plant No. 2 of the Central cogeneration plant.
- Design and exploration work for installation of fish protection structures completed for the Avtovskaya cogeneration plant.
- Installation of four fish protection structures completed at Vyborgskaya cogeneration plant.
In 2008, atmospheric pollutant emissions in this region decreased by 21.8 % compared to the previous year, mainly due to lower share of fuel oil in the fuel balance of the branch’s cogeneration plants. In 2008, fuel oil accounted for 0.31 % of the fuel balance versus 2.15 % in 2007.
TGC-1 in Murmansk Oblast
- Detailed design of treatment facilities developed for Tuloma cascade of hydroelectric stations.
- Reconstruction of domestic wastewater treatment facilities finished at Niva hydro power plant 1.
- Design and reconstruction of treatment facilities for drainage water from the compressor house and the oil facility finished at Serebryanskiy hydro power plants.
- Dust extraction plant of boiler 4 overhauled at Apatity cogeneration plant.
TGC-1 in the Republic of Karelia
- Cooling tower 1 reconstructed, and cooling tower 2 repaired at Petrozavodskaya cogeneration plant.
- Work performed to shut down treatment facilities of Kem cascade of hydroelectric stations (stopping effluent discharge into the Kem River) and switch to blind septic tank with waste disposal to the city dump.
- Work performed to clean contaminated broken stone under oil-filled equipment using biodegraders at the facilities of the region’s hydroelectric station cascades.
