Authors of best graduation projects receive awards from JSC TGC-1

On August 12, 2015, the head office of JSC TGC-1 hosted the awards ceremony for the winners in the 12th contest of graduation projects among higher educational institutions of the Northwest.

Students and professors attending the awards ceremony were welcomed by Edward Lisitskiy, Chairman of the Expert Panel and Deputy General Director for Development at JSC TGC-1.

"Energy industry continues to develop; new capacities are being created, and cutting-edge equipment and technologies are being introduced. Therefore, skills of our employees need to be upgraded and university syllabi need to be adjusted. It is in our interests to participate in the training of future graduates and in the joint development of graduation and research projects", emphasised Edward Lisitskiy. "Currently, the pressing issues include the necessity to increase the effectiveness of gas turbine units maintenance and repair by adopting foreign service regulations and technologies, the optimisation of heat supply schemes for big cities, and the rational distribution of energy generation in unified systems with high power sources and local systems with small power sources".

Twenty student projects from the four leading energy engineering universities of the Northwest were submitted for consideration of the expert panel. The Peter the Great St.Petersburg Polytechnic University remains the leader in the number of projects sent to the contest, with its students becoming the winners on a regular basis.

"We organise a lot of events in search of talented students and provide them the opportunities of professional development in our company under the guidance of best specialists", said Victoria Plotnikova, Head of TGC-1 Training Centre. "Two winners of this year's contest of graduation projects are already employed with our company".
